20 Years of Royce: Sandra Kimokoti ‘15

"Rugby is one of those tools that helps you see that you can do something that you either were told, or for some reason believed, you couldn't do before as a woman."

How can a contact sport like rugby change girls' lives? Sandra's Royce Fellowship brought her to rural Kenya to coach rugby and teach reproductive health care to young women.

This audio story is part of "20 Years of Royce" - a series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Royce Fellowship, which supports Brown University undergraduates as they carry out independent projects of their own design in locations across the United States and around the world. Stories produced by Liza Yeager '17.
